Recently the health community and Senator John McCain proposed legislation to curtail teen smoking. Studies conducted in states raising tobacco taxes clearly demonstrate that raising taxes on tobacco lowers consumption of tobacco products by teenagers.

However, once the bill was written, the tobacco industry with the help of the U. S. Chamber of Commerce spent millions of dollars in an attempt to defeat this legislation. The health community, with no financial resources, was defenseless.

Thomas Donohue is a SCUMBAG. He has taken the financial resources of the membership of the U. S. Chamber of Commerce to fight HIS personal battle against our youth and against the health community. Continued abuse of tobacco is not in the best interest of the business community. A healthy consumer is a prolific consumer. A healthy worker is a productive worker.

It is time for us to rid ourselves of this SCUMBAG!
